Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler has been included in the list for the top 20 candidates to win this year’s Golden Boy award, Tuttosport announced on Thursday.
There are a few players currently plying their trade in La Liga that have been included in the list – the most notable of them being Güler and Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal. Yildiz – who plays for Juventus and is teammates with Güler for Turkey – has also made the list.
Güler is definitely one of the best young talents in world football. In the limited minutes he got last season, he showed that he can be trusted upon as a viable option off the bench because of his brilliance on the ball and efficiency to get involved in the game with limited playing time.
Güler has already played far more this season than he had at this point last season, and if he continues to improve, his minutes will surely keep going up. The talent has never been a question with the Turkish international – it’s all a matter of continuity and growth.
Endrick was also named as a wildcard for the award.
