India’s stock market correction deepened in February, with the Nifty 50 extending its losing streak to eight straight sessions at the end of the month, bringing its total decline to nearly 16% from its record high of 26,277. The index is now just 1,103 points away from bear market territory—a 20% drop from peak levels. The broader market sell-off has been even more severe, with the Nifty Midcap 150 plunging 21.1%, the Smallcap 250 sliding 25.6%, and the Microcap 250 tumbling 26.2% from their respective highs.
