The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!
Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco and yours truly, Kung_Fu_Zizou
It’s Champions League Night!
Real Madrid are very have recovered another key member of the squad. Camavinga will ease the pressure on the squad with his versatility while Kylian has been declared healthy enough to play.
Unfortunately the absences of Brahim, Alaba and Ceballos mean that Carlo will need to be more creative with his rotations
Lunin Returns
There’s little doubt Lunin’s confidence took a knock when he was dropped for the impervious Belgian in the Champions League final. It is like watching a dream get snatched away from you. One cannot blame Lunin. Hopefully he’s put that behind him and reach the levels he showed during the competition last season.
Kylian is Ready to Go!
Mbappe was expected to be out until after the international break but it turned out he wasn’t seriously injured.
The Frenchman has hardly been rested and perhaps that took its toll. The offense is very different with him on the pitch and that was noticeable during the derbi.
Cama Oh!
A special talent with a special character. Camavinga’s return will be most welcome. The youngster makes it very difficult for opponent to enjoy themselves against Real Madrid. His ability to snatch the ball from the opposition just when they think they’re in the clear. Nobody will want to face Jude, Fede and Edu tirelessly running up and down the pitch.
Arda’s Moment?
The Young Turk will be eager to make a mark in the Champions League. Carlo has his starting front 3 available and Camavinga to supplement the midfield likely in lieu of Luka Modric. It will be interesting where Arda plays if Carlo does give him his first start in the Champions League.
Nico’s Star on the rise
Nico Paz has found the perfect place in Como and manager in Fagrebas to aid his development. He looks a fabulous player. Marvellous passing off both feet. Vision beyond his years. He’s going to have to work very hard to reach his potential and his first major reward so far is a call up to the Argentina national team.
Retired Toni Kept his sens of humour
️ Toni Kroos: “Visit my former teammates at training? There’s also the risk that Carlo will tell me to remain here (laughs).” pic.twitter.com/dbJ3nGNlbn
