In the depths of winter, the frozen surface of Chagan Lake in Songyuan, northeast China’s Jilin Province, comes alive with the bustling activity of the traditional winter fishing season. Fishermen haul in massive catches that fill the fishing grounds, while thousands of visitors from across the country gather to experience the 23rd Chagan Lake Ice and Snow Fishing and Hunting Cultural Tourism Festival. Now at its peak, the festival highlights a dynamic fusion of culture, nature, and winter tourism.
